Second Complaint - Noisy Animal
If you have completed the Noisy Animal Complaint Form, we will be sending both you and the animal's owner/caretaker letters about the complaint on the next business day (business days for CCAS are Tuesday through Saturday). The owner/caretaker will have 15 days from the date on the letter to correct the issue. If the issue is not corrected in that time, you can then complete the second complaint process to move this to a citation/hearing.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have not submitted a first complaint, you must do so before completing this form. Persons who submit a first complaint will have received an activity number, which is required to complete this form. If you do not have an activity number stemming from a first complaint, this form will not be accepted.
REMINDER: Before you submit the affidavit, make sure that the incident meets the criteria for a noisy animal, which is listed below. Complete definitions can be found in Contra Costa County Ordinance 416-12.202. The noise disturbance must satisfy at least ONE of the following:
- 30 minutes or more of incessant (non-stop) noise; or
- 60 minutes or more of accumulated intermittent (on/off) barking in a 24 hour period.
