Capital Improvement Program

Overview

Capital Improvement Program (aka Watershed Planning Engineering Section) staff prepares conceptual plans for regional drainage systems and identifies and prepares ordinances for drainage fee areas. This section also develops federal flood control projects through coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provides flood control standards.

This program performs the following functions:
  • Identify and plan for long-range flood protection solutions.
  • Design and build regional drainage systems for the County and cities.
  • Establish and update developer fees for regional drainage systems.
  • Collaborate with federal, state, and local partners on large flood control projects.
