Community Probation Program

Overview

Deputy Probation Officers are assigned to police departments throughout the county. These Community Probation (CP) Officers work closely with the city police officers to share information to deter youth from further penetration into the criminal justice system.

The youth they work with are almost exclusively wards of the court and many youth on these caseloads have committed serious felonies. In addition, these minors generally attend continuation, court or other alternative school programs.

The CP officer will supervise youthful offenders who attend regular public school where no probation officer is assigned.
