Reasonable Accommodation

The federal Americans with Disabilities Act “ADA”, and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, “FEHA” require employers to provide reasonable accommodation to qualified employees with a disability in order that the employee may perform the essential functions of their job.

Contra Costa County is committed to providing equal access and opportunity to qualified individuals with disabilities in its employment practices. The County will adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), and all other applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines with respect to providing Reasonable Accommodation, as necessary, to afford equal employment opportunity for qualified individuals with disabilities.

To request a reasonable accommodation, please contact the ADA Coordinator for your department. If you are an employee with a disability and believe are being discriminated against because of your disability, please contact the County Equal Employment Opportunity Officer at (925) 335-1455.
