The California Public Records Act declares that access to information concerning the conduct of the people's business is a fundamental and necessary right of every person in the State because it gives the public an opportunity to monitor the functioning of their government. In accordance with the California Public Records Act and the Better Government Ordinance, any person is entitled to inspect and to receive copies of the public records of the County.
The Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures provides frequently requested information such as the pesticide use reports that are provided by county growers, pest control businesses, and certain public entities that use pesticides. We also publish County Crop Reports that contain annual production values, acreages and crop commodities grown in the county. If the information that you are seeking is not present on the website, please complete a Request for Public Records form (PDF). Submittal of this form is not required. However, it is provided for your convenience. The Department has also developed a Public Information Request letter (PDF) that contains information on how to submit the form, the type of information that the Department of Agriculture/Weights and Measures maintains, and examples of confidential information that cannot be supplied under California law.
For questions or to request additional assistance, please contact the Department by telephone, mail, email, or in person at the Concord office.
