Project Description:
The project objectives are to improve safety of vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic along Danville Blvd by incorporating complete streets improvements along this corridor. The improvements include:
Improving and widening existing sidewalks and Provide bicycle facilities along this segment of Danville Blvd.
Provide curb extensions and Curb ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act
Improve pedestrian crossing by shortening the overall length of the crosswalk and provide pedestrian refuge areas in the road medians.
Construct a roundabout at the intersection to reduce vehicle speeds and conflicts while maintaining movement of traffic through the intersection.
Reconstruct sidewalks that will accommodate many of the existing mature trees along Danville Blvd.
Provide landscaped greenspace along the project corridor and in the roundabout center.
The project will also include drainage improvements, utility relocations, landscaping improvements (including tree removal), and electrical work. Staging of traffic will be required to maintain access to public roads and private driveways through the construction of the project.

DBE Program: This project is partially funded by federal funds from U.S. Department of Transportation. The prospective bidders are required to comply with 49 Code of Regulations (CFR) Part 26. The prospective bidders must meet the project-specific Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal or document the Good Faith Effort (GFE) process. It is important to note that to comply with the County DBE program’s Good Faith Effort, the bidders must take certain actions a minimum of 15 days prior to bid opening.
