Grayson and Walnut Creeks Levee Improvement at CCCSD Treatment Plant

Project Overview

The work to be done generally consists of raising the western levees of Grayson Creek and Walnut Creek along the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (CCCSD) treatment plant. The project limits along Grayson Creek are from the State Route 4 bridge to the Walnut Creek confluence. The project limits along Walnut Creek are from the Grayson Creek confluence to the BNSF Railroad bridge. Work consists of placing and compacting additional 3 to 4 feet of fill on top of the levees, constructing levee flood walls on either side of Imhoff Drive, constructing levee access ramps, and reconstructing a gravel road. Other work includes utility relocation, railroad track removal, maintenance road construction, fence relocation, and vegetation removal.

This project is partially funded by federal funds from U.S. Department of Transportation. The prospective bidders are required to comply with 49 Code of Regulations (CFR) Part 26. The prospective bidders must meet the project-specific Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal or document the Good Faith Effort (GFE) process. It is important to note that to comply with the County DBE program’s Good Faith Effort, the bidders must take certain actions a minimum of 15 days prior to bid opening.
