Antioch-Community-Foundation_small

In partnership with the Antioch Community Foundation (ACF), the Probation Department is a proud sponsor of the Youth of Promise Fund.

Supported by the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) funding, the Probation Department’s initial commitment of $100,000 will support local non-profits serving east Contra Costa County communities with a specific focus on preventing youth engagement in the local juvenile justice system as well as support youth who are justice-system involved. These resources are intended to expand the pool of funding for programs and services available to youth and families most in need while also offering organizational support to emerging non-profit organizations serving East Contra Costa communities.

Micro-grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to non-profit organizations serving East Contra Costa County youth and families and must be used to support priority program/service areas described below:

Priority Program/Service Areas Include:

  • Academic success, mentoring, and tutoring;
  • Leadership development
  • Civic engagement/social justice;
  • Prevention;
  • Youth employment, internships, or work-ready skills training; and

Among others that support and promote strategies and best practices that effectively prevent or reduce juvenile crime and provide youth and their families with opportunities to achieve, grow, and thrive.
