Morgan Territory Road Updates

Posted on: April 13, 2017

[ARCHIVED] April 13: Morgan Territory Road Opened

The County  installed temporary signals this morning along the slide on Morgan Territory Road. Morgan Territory Road is now open to one way vehicle traffic. The road is open to all vehicle traffic and trailers as long as they meet the legal load limit and do not require a special permit.

The road will remain open with signals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as long the site conditions can allow vehicle traffic. The site will be monitored daily and in the event a safety concern arises we may need to close the road to vehicle traffic. We will try to give as much notice as possible, but if it’s an immediate concern there may not be notice. The road will be closed to vehicle traffic periodically to continue to perform maintenance work such as filling cracks and regrading the road. This type of work will be scheduled and notice provided, whenever possible.

The decision to open the road was made in consultation with the County’s geotechnical consultant. We will continue to keep the road open as long as it is deemed safe. Residents are asked to be courteous and observe the 5 miles per hour speed limit when driving through the slide. Please respect the traffic signal as it will be timed to allow traffic to cross the impacted area with one lane of traffic at a time.
