The dumpster and recycling carts on the north side of the slide will be picked up by Republic Services on Thursday, April 20. The original pick up date was set for April 24 because we were assisting with garbage service during the road closure. However, the road is now open and unfortunately the dumpster is being used for other items and not household garbage. Because of that, the dumpster will be picked up tomorrow. If you are a resident who currently does not have service with Republic, you will want to make arrangements with the company for trash and recycling pick up. You can find their contact information here: https://www.republicservices.com or call directly at (925) 685-4711.
The temporary traffic signal is working well and County staff are continuing to monitor and measure the slide. The slide continues to move, although it is a slower pace than it initially was. We want to stress again how important it is for everyone to follow traffic laws and wait at the traffic signal until the light is green. This will help insure safe passage through the area.
The Public Works Real Estate Division has signed agreements with all property owners on Leon Drive and a verbal commitment from the multiple owners/trusts on the Pacini parcel and we anticipate signed agreements in the next 1-2 weeks. Design and environmental clearance for this temporary access is proceeding simultaneously. Upon completion of these items and favorable weather we will commence with improvements for an alternative access, but cannot state a completion date at this time.
