Morgan Territory Road Slide Repair Project
The Morgan Territory Road Slide Repair project is scheduled to begin on July 17th. Morgan Territory Road will be fully closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians at 7:00 a.m. on July 17th and the temporary access road on Leon Drive will be open. The contractor is scheduled to work six days a week with completion anticipated in mid-October.
The repair work requires the installation of two structural retaining wall systems, excavation and backfill of embankment between the wall systems, reconstruction of 350 linear feet of pavement, drainage improvements, water main installation, and pavement striping. On June 14, 2017, the Public Works Director signed a contract with Flatiron West, Inc., to perform the emergency repair project, in the amount of $2,846,889.
Last week, the County mailed temporary access passes for travel on the Leon Drive Access Road. The passes will be used as a security feature to assist the Sheriff in monitoring traffic on the Leon Drive Access Road through the Marsh Creek Detention Facility. Please place one in each of your vehicles to be visible. They may be hung from your rearview mirror or placed on your dash. Please also provide them to regular visitors to your homes. This may include gardeners, housekeepers, contractors, or others who frequent your home. If you need additional passes, please contact the Public Works Department at 925-313-2000 or by e-mail at [email protected] and they will be provided to you. Visitors to your home do not require a pass, but may be contacted by law enforcement to verify their purpose on the temporary access road.
