The Morgan Territory Road Slide Repair project will begin on July 17. Morgan Territory Road will be fully closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians beginning at 7:00 a.m. on July 17 and extending through mid-October. During the approximately 3-month long road closure the temporary access road on Leon Drive will be open. The County’s contractor, Flatiron is scheduled to work six days a week with completion anticipated in mid-October. Next week, the contractor will install construction signage and fencing, perform tree removal, and begin clearing the site for construction activities.
The County mailed temporary access passes for travel on the Leon Drive Access Road. The passes will be used as a security feature to assist the Sheriff in monitoring traffic on the Leon Drive Access Road through the Marsh Creek Detention Facility. Please place one in each of your vehicles to be visible. They may be hung from your rearview mirror or placed on your dash. Please also provide them to regular visitors to your homes. This may include gardeners, housekeepers, contractors, or others who frequent your home. If you need additional passes, please contact the Public Works Department at 925-313-2000 or by e-mail at [email protected] and they will be provided to you. Visitors to your home do not require a pass, but may be contacted by law enforcement to verify their purpose on the temporary access road.
Please drive safely and be courteous to your neighbors on the access road. The speed limit is 15 miles per hour. The Public Works Department will have staff on the access road on Monday to assist with traffic, monitor the operations and make adjustments as necessary.
