The slide repair project continues to move forward on schedule with completion projected in mid-October. This past week the County's contractor installed most of the concrete lagging between the soldier piles forming the face of the uphill retaining wall. Later in the project, the visible portion of the concrete lagging and steel beams will be painted/stained a dark brown color. The pictures below show the lagging between the steel soldier piles. The contractor also excavated the site to 4 feet below the future finished grade of the roadway as needed to begin the drilling of the horizontal soil anchors between the steel soldier piles. The drilling of the horizontal soil anchors is expected to be complete the week of September 5th. Following the installation of the soil anchors the contractor will start drilling the foundation piles for the downslope retaining wall, during the week of September 11th.
We will provide project updates and pictures as the project moves forward.
For the safety of residents and construction workers, please do not go into the project site.
