During the last week, the County’s contractor completed the earthwork between the retaining walls. This work included installation of subsurface drainage. The installation of the new 8” waterline is anticipated to be completed by October 31. During the tie-in operation, water service to residents will not be disrupted. After waterline installation the roadway pavement section will be constructed beginning with the baserock installation and then hot mix asphalt paving. The paving work is currently scheduled for the week of October 30. Installation of concrete barriers and metal beam guard railings will follow the paving operation. PG&E is scheduled to relocate their overhead electric facilities back to the roadway on November 8 and 9. They will soon be sending out a notice to affected customers of the need to take power down on November 9 for the electric clearance work.
The County is on schedule for completion of work and reopening the road by mid-November. We will continue to provides updates and pictures as the project moves forward to completion. For the safety of residents and construction workers, please do not go into the project site.
The Public Works Maintenance crews are continuing to maintain the access road. Please keep speed to 15 miles per hour on the access road. Your neighbors on Leon Drive have allowed the use of their private road for this access so it’s important to keep speeds to the posted speed limit.
