[ARCHIVED] Marsh Creek Road Bridge Replacement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contra Costa County Public Works to Replace Marsh Creek Road Bridge

April 23, 2018, Clayton, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works, along with Bridgeway Civil Constructors, Inc. will replace the Marsh Creek Road Bridge approximately two miles east of Morgan Territory Road in Clayton.  Bridgeway Civil Constructors, Inc. will perform roadwork starting on April 30 with completion about eight months later, barring unforeseen circumstances.

The existing bridge will be replaced with a new concrete bridge in stages built to current standards. The project will include reconstruction of approximately 1,000 linear feet of Marsh Creek Road near the bridge, installation of retaining walls, and relocation of the waterline service. The new roadway will include 8-foot-wide paved shoulders on either side.

In order to build the improvements, Marsh Creek Road will undergo a series of minor alignment changes through the project zone including reduced widths and speeds.  The project is expected to be completed in December 2018, at which point Marsh Creek Road will be opened to full width on a new slightly shifted alignment. Two lanes of traffic will be open for public use throughout the construction period.

This project is being funded by the Federal Highway Bridge Program, SB1 Road Repair and Accountability Act and Contra Costa Water District funds.
