Contra Costa Public Works to Create Bikeway Path on Blackhawk Road

May 15, 2018, Blackhawk, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works, along with VSS International, Inc. will perform roadwork on Blackhawk Road between Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd and Camino Tassajara in the Blackhawk/Danville area. Work is expected to begin on May 14, 2018 with completion by June 8, 2018. Slurry application is scheduled the week of May 21, 2018, weather permitting.

The work will consist of striping bicycle lanes along Blackhawk Road between Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd and Camino Tassajara. Additionally, a slurry seal treatment will be applied between Blackhawk Drive and Camino Tassajara. Work will also include surface preparation, tree trimming, striping removal, placement of new thermoplastic striping and pavement markings.
Delays should be expected.  Funding for this project is financed with gas tax revenues provided by the SB1 Road Repair and Accountability Act.  More information for this project can be found at http://www.cccounty.us/pwdmap.
