[ARCHIVED] Stay Cool with High Temperatures

Stay inside in an air-conditioned building, drink plenty of water, and know the signs of heat illness, says Contra Costa Health Services. See health tips about heat.

Call 911, if you or someone near you is having a health emergency.

According to 211, these cooling centers are open:

GRIP in Richmond
Monument Crisis Center in Concord (accepting pets)
Trinity Center in Walnut Creek

See tips and a list of Places for Seniors and People with Disabilities to Cool Off (PDF).

Other options include shopping malls, movie theaters, museums, and libraries with air conditioning.

You can check with your city for other locations.
