The Contra Costa County Library is serving free lunches to kids at eight library locations in the county this summer in an effort to prevent a summer nutrition gap. Many low-income children face nutrient deficiencies when school closes for the summer break.
In addition to lunch, the libraries will offer a variety of free programs including board games, arts and crafts, musical performances, Legos, movies, and more. Lunches are free for kids and teens 18 and under. For more information about the Lunch at the Library program visit, ccclib.org/summer.
