Contra Costa County voters can watch local “Election Preview” starting on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. This programming offers Contra Costa voters a chance to be informed on candidates and issues before casting their ballots. Moderators include Bob Butler, KCBS reporter, John Petullo, retired educator, Alan Wang, Public Information Officer, County Employment and Human Services, and Claudine Wong, KTVU reporter. 

The 18 forums recorded so far, include the following races:  

Ambrose Recreation & Park District Director 

Antioch City Council District 1 

Antioch City Council District 3 

Antioch Mayor 

Bart Board District 1 

Brentwood Mayor 

Central Sanitary District 

Concord City Council District 2

Contra Costa Board of Education Area 3

Contra Costa Community College District Ward 5 

Danville Town Council 

Discovery Bay Community Services Director 

El Cerrito City Council 

Oakley City Council

Pittsburg City Council

San Pablo City Council

San Ramon Mayor

Walnut Creek City Council

 


Election Preview’s pre-recorded discussions will air on Contra Costa Television (CCTV): Comcast Channel 27, Wave Channel 32, and AT&T U-verse Channel 99. See the television broadcast schedule at www.contracosta.ca.gov/7626. You can watch the videos online starting on September 23rd on the County website at www.contracosta.ca.gov/7097. Contra Costa County Elections Division is partnering with the County’s Office of Communications & Media, the League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley, and the League of Women Voters of West Contra Costa.

The Contra Costa County Library will also present four virtual Candidate Forums before the November 3, 2020 Election. The forums scheduled to date are for Mt. Diablo Unified School District Area 3, Brentwood Union School District, and Liberty Union School District. The forums will air live on Tuesday, September 29, and Thursday, October 1, from 6 pm to 8 pm. They can be watched on the Library Facebook page, Library YouTube channel, and contracostatv.org.

To ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Elections Division encourages voting early and by mail. Voters have multiple options to drop off ballots or vote in person, including early voting sites beginning October 30, 2020. Locations of early voting sites and drop off sites can be found at www.cocovote.us or in your Voter Information Guide, which will be mailed to voters on September 24, 2020.

All registered Contra Costa voters will receive a Vote by Mail Ballot for the November 3rd Election. The deadline for voter registration is October 19, 2020. You can register or check your registration at registertovote.ca.gov. Voters can track their ballots at www.wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov.
