At a Board meeting on September 29, 2020, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed an amended Urgency Ordinance No. 2020-26 (PDF) to authorize a temporary prohibition on evictions of certain commercial tenants impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These prohibitions of commercial evictions and the specified exceptions last through November 30, 2020.
The Ordinance supersedes Ordinance No. 2020-25 and continues a moratorium on certain evictions for residential tenants in the County through January 31, 2021. The Urgency Ordinance also continues a moratorium on certain residential rent increases through January 31, 2021. The Ordinance is retroactive to September 1, 2020.
