Contra Costa County Public Works to begin Construction on Rodeo Pedestrian Enhancement
April 16, 2021, Rodeo, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works will begin construction of the Rodeo Pedestrian Enhancement Project starting on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 through Tuesday, June 1, 2021, 7:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, with restrictions to minimize impacts to school drop-off and pick-up times. Drivers should expect delays during construction. Work includes-installing crosswalk enhancements at two sites in Rodeo. Site 1 is located at the intersection of Parker Avenue and 6th Street. Work at Site 1 includes-installation of solar rectangular rapid flashing beacons, sidewalk curb extensions, and extension of the existing median to create a pedestrian refuge area. Site 2 is located on 7th Street at the intersections of Napa Avenue and Vallejo Avenue. Work at Site 2 includes-installation of curb ramps, a traffic-calming device, solar powered rectangular rapid flashing beacons, and a sidewalk curb extension. Work at both sites includes installation of striping and pavement markings.
