Active transportation includes all forms of human-powered transportation, including walking, biking, and rolling (wheelchair/personal mobility device, skateboards, scooters, etc.). The Contra Costa County ATP will serve as the guiding document for constructing and improving walking, biking, and rolling infrastructure throughout the unincorporated County.
A project website will serve as a single location to host all information related to the ATP: https://activecontracosta.org/. The website has an interactive map where users can leave comments on existing walking and biking routes, draw in their preferred routes, and provide comments on locations that are currently difficult for people to walk, bike, and roll. Users can also take a brief survey to describe their current walking, biking, and rolling habits and their vision for the future of active transportation in the unincorporated County. Online engagement materials are available in both English and Spanish.
The public is encouraged to sign up for the project email list to get periodic project updates. They can sign up either on the website or by leaving their email address on the survey.
The second phase of community engagement will launch in mid/late-summer to receive feedback on project recommendations and the document will be available for public review towards the end of 2021.
