Contra Costa County Public Works to begin Construction of the Oak Road Bikeway Project in Walnut Creek
July 28, 2021, Walnut Creek, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works will begin construction of the Oak Road Bikeway Project starting on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 through Friday, September 24, 2021, barring unforeseen circumstances. Work will occur between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Work will take place on Oak Road, between Treat Boulevard and Buskirk Avenue, in Walnut Creek. The project will consist of removing existing striping, applying a pavement treatment, restriping bicycle lanes, installing shared roadway markings and road signs. Drivers should expect delays during construction due to partial lane closures.
