March 25, 2022, Rodeo, CA – Contra Costa County Public Works Department issued a permit to Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to allow them to replace more than 160 service lines and approximately 1.25 miles of gas main with upgraded pipeline in Rodeo. There are no plans for this work to interrupt gas service.
Construction will begin in late March 2022 and continue through November 2022, barring unforeseen circumstances. Work will occur from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Work will not be done on federally observed holidays. Work will take place on the following streets: Myrna Way, Langlie Way, Langlie Court, Stirling Drive, Viewpoint Boulevard, California Street, Sandpoint Drive, Coral Drive, Donald Drive, and Claeys Court in Rodeo. Customers in the affected area will receive notification in advance of the work.
The purpose of this work is for PG&E to upgrade gas equipment, benefitting more than 160 local customers with a safer and more resilient system. Residents can expect pavement saw cutting, trenching, staging of equipment and materials. Some dust and noise can also be expected during the hours of construction. There will be impacts to through traffic and loss of some street parking. Residents will still have access to their homes/driveways. There will be traffic control throughout the work area. Drivers should expect delays. “No Parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance of work. Final paving will follow several months after pipeline installation.
