[ARCHIVED] Update on Discharge within the Walnut Creek Channel

Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Investigating Potential Illicit Discharge within Walnut Creek Channel

(Updated) May 20, 2022, Walnut Creek, CA – On Thursday, May 19, 2022, the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) removed the potential illicit discharge within the Walnut Creek Channel that was reported on May 9, 2022. The discharge was located north of Civic Park in the City of Walnut Creek, near Civic Drive and Arroyo Way. The District has been coordinating with Kinder Morgan and Central Contra Costa Sanitary District who have facilities in the area. They conducted their own tests to exclude their facilities as the source of the discharge. The District will continue to monitor this area for any reoccurrence
