[ARCHIVED] Contra Costa County Publishes Vision Zero Web Story Map

Contra Costa County Publishes Vision Zero Web Story Map

July 19, 2022, Unincorporated Contra Costa County-The Vision Zero philosophy, first adopted in Sweden in 1997, recognizes that even one death on our transportation system is unacceptable and focuses on a safe systems approach for all road users.

On March 1, 2022 the Board of Supervisors adopted the Vision Zero report and Action Plan that was led by the Public Works Department, and developed collaboratively with many agencies and departments within and outside of the County. The action plan was developed with people from all sectors of transportation like engineers, planners, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, teachers, advocates, and policy makers.

With Vision Zero, we believe that all traffic collisions that result in serious injury or death are avoidable and preventable and that our goal should be ZERO.  See our interactive Web Story Map for details about the County’s Vision Zero Program at:   https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/VisionZero.
