District Attorney and Police Agencies Meet with Gabe Family
Martinez, Calif. – Contra Costa District Attorney Diana Becton, members of the Antioch Police Department, Oakley Police Department, and the D.A.’s investigative team met with the family of Alexis Gabe at 3:30 pm today in Martinez.
Last week, Chief Assistant District Attorney Simon O’Connell spoke with Gabe family and invited them to meet with D.A. Becton and members of law enforcement at a future date.
At today’s meeting, information related to Alexis Gabe’s disappearance on January 26, 2022, was recounted – some of which was made public by the Gabe family on August 2, 2022. The timeline of events the Gabes made public led the family to demand that aiding and abetting charges be brought against Jones’s mother, Alicia Coleman Clark.
While the investigation into Alexis Gabe’s disappearance and death is ongoing, to date there is insufficient evidence to establish that Ms. Clark knew Marshall Jones killed Alexis – or that Ms. Clark assisted Jones after the fact. However, if additional evidence surfaces, the DA’s Office would review it for possible criminal prosecution.
After the meeting, D.A. Becton said, “It was a productive meeting. And it was good to have Mr. and Mrs. Gabe, law enforcement, and attorneys in one room so everyone could appreciate the state of the ongoing investigation.”
On June 1st, D.A. Becton filed murder charges against Marshall Jones. However, Jones was shot and killed by police in Washington State when he charged at them with a knife while they attempted to arrest him.
To date, the whereabouts of Alexis Gabe are not known.
