CCbuilding lights1 news flash

The County Administration Building was lit up in teal, green and pink lights on Thursday, October 13th, 2022, to shine a light on awareness and funding for metastatic breast cancer research.

Every year, more than 685,000 people worldwide die from metastatic breast cancer (MBC), also known as Stage 4 or advanced breast cancer, for which there is no cure. This happens when cancer spreads beyond the breast to other body parts.

For National Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, over 200 landmarks across all 50 U.S. states, Canada and Ireland were lit up in the MBC awareness colors of teal, green, and pink as part of the #LightUpMBC campaign. The tri-color ribbon symbolizes hope, immortality, healing, and spirituality.
