Contra Costa County is establishing a 7-member Ad Hoc Arts Council Steering Committee that represents the geographic and demographic diversity of the County.
The mission of the Committee is to guide an arts and cultural planning effort through an inclusive community engagement process. The Steering Committee will provide input and collaboration to County staff and the contracted project manager on the arts council establishment process and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the process and the outcomes.
We welcome your application to serve on the Steering Committee. We are recruiting artists, members who are present or former arts and culture commissioners or managing directors, staff, members or directors of local arts and culture organizations/committees/foundations, representatives of County departments, representatives of municipalities and chambers of commerce, school district representatives and leaders of education, the LGBTQ+ community, and members who are Black, Indigenous and people of color.
Because no applicants from District 3 had applied by the deadline, the deadline to submit applications for consideration is extended to Friday, November 11, 2022. To submit online applications, an application form is available at: https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/6433/. Applications can also be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to the Clerk of the Office of the Board of Supervisors at 1025 Escobar Street, 1st Floor, Martinez, CA 94553.
