It's Kitten Season

April Showers Mean It’s Raining Kittens

It’s been a heavy Winter and everyone at CCAS is excited for Spring to begin. Though with Spring upon us, so is kitten season. In this month’s CCAS newsletter, learn about what kitten season is in our Animal Tails blog, find out how to become a CCAS kitten foster parent, and be sure to take note of our April adoption promotion that focuses on finding homes for some of our long-term shelter residents.

Also… just a friendly reminder that using those tax refunds to adopt a pet is a great way to alleviate the stress of doing your taxes.

What is Kitten Season

Kitten Season

As kitten season is upon us, we are in need of kitten foster parents. CCAS offers free kitten foster parent classes so interested fosters can learn about what fostering these adorable babies involves. Whether your preference is kittens (four weeks and older), bottle babies (less than four weeks old) or full on families (mama cat with kittens), we’ve got all the cuteness you need. Becoming a kitten foster is some of the most rewarding work you will ever experience. To learn more, be sure to check out this month’s Animal Tails blog, “What is Kitten Season?” If you are interested in becoming a CCAS kitten foster parent, please call 925-608-8425.

We are also hosting a kitten foster baby shower (donation drive) on April 6th at our Martinez shelter. Swing by the shelter that day to donate to our kitten foster program, or visit our kitten shower registry online here.

Adopted!

Remember Frostie Paws? She came to visit us on St. Pitty's Day and we heard she's doing so well in her new home! Her family has been bringing her to our Saturday basic training classes with our behavior team

Thirty for thirty dollars pet adoptions

April Promotion - 30 for 30

From April 1-29, all animals that have been in our shelters for more than thirty days will be able to be adopted for a reduced adoption fee of $30.00. Also, be sure to check our website and social media pages throughout the month, as we’ll be revealing our plans for national Adopt A Shelter Pet Day on April 30th.

What is Kitten Season?

The term “kitten season” sounds like something out of a children’s book ? a magical time when tiny purring fur-balls sprout like blossoms beneath rainbows in dew-kissed meadows. But to animal rescuers and shelters, the mere mention of it can make them snap to attention and double-check their preparations, like emergency teams bracing for a massive hurricane.
