I have suffered a personal injury or property damage that I believe was caused by the County or one of its employees. How do I go about collecting for my damages?

Claims for money are made by submitting a claim to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, located in the County Administration Building, 1025 Escobar Street, First Floor, Martinez, California 94553. Claim forms can be obtained from the Clerk of the Board. The law regarding claims against public entities is complicated and has relatively short deadlines. You should seek the services of an attorney for your own protection, and you should present your claim without delay.  For more information, please go to
